Figure 1 After a successful career in public health, Harry seized the opportunity presented by yet another reorganisation to take early retirement and pursue his interest in alternative medicine. He studied and practised both homoeopathy and acupuncture, spending some time in China furthering his knowledge of the latter. He was an expert in medieval armour and edge weapons. He leaves a wife, Liz; five children from a previous marriage; and six grandchildren.
