ResumoThis paper proposes a new simulation framework for generating realistic 3D ultrasound synthetic images that can serve for validating strain quantification algorithms. Our approach extends previous work and combines a real ultrasound sequence with synthetic biomechanical and ultrasound models. It provides images that fairly represent all typical ultrasound artifacts. Ground truth motion fields are unbiased to any tracking algorithm and model both healthy and pathological conditions.
