ResumoThe Bonapartism is one of the most controversial political concept, which emerged in the early decades of the XIX century. Many authors have had difficulty in defining and using this concept due to the fascination and hatred generated by the governments of Napoleon Bonaparte and Louis Bonaparte in Europe.Using conceptual history, which examines the historical semantics of the concepts, this paper aims to describe how the concept of Bonapartism was perceived by Karl Marx.At first we will explain the methodology of the history of concepts. In a second phase we will analyze the context of the emergence of the concept and finally the challenge of characterizing Bonapartism made by Marx.
