ResumoThe following review presents the ideas and theories put forth by the author Zygmunt Bauman regarding the issue of globalization and its consequences. This author proposes a theory of "compression of space and time" by means of examples of immobility of the dominated classes and spatial organization as an instrument for oppression. He argues that globalization, focusing on high productivity and cultural "immediatism", exterminates learning and promotes an even further distancing between the upper and lower classes.
