Resumo*Received in the Editorial Office, March 12, 1928. †(The data here presented are merely the preliminary to a much larger study which will appear later. Further questionnaires are to be sent out at three month intervals (January, April, July). The main study is planned to include among other points: (1) data on seasonal differences in sleep; (2) changes in the sleep of the individual children followed during the year; (3) comparison of the sleep of urban and rural children; (4) comparison of the sleep of children of different occupational classes; (5) the relationship between education of parents and sleep of offspring; (6) the effect of the presence of siblings upon the sleep of children; (7) factors influencing the length of time required to go to sleep; (8) relationship between bed-time and length of sleep; (9) relationship between state of health and sleep; (10) relationship between willingness to go to bed and other factors; (11) mean amount of sleep taken on different days of the week.
