Resumo

Heat-capacity measurements have been performed on [NH3(CH2)3NH3]CdCl4(cr). A lattice heat-capacity model using spectroscopic quantities was developed to study the disordering process of the alkyl chains in this compound and analogous [NH3(CH2)nNH3]MnCl4 derivatives (n = 3,5) above 200 K. A magnetic transition previously suspected around 50 K in [NH3(CH2)3NH3]MnCl4 has been definitely found.
