Resumo

Abstract (Paper presented in preliminary form at the meeting of the Fachgruppe Nuklearchemie der GDCh, September 22-26, 1980, Jülich, and at the III Simposio sobre Química Nuclear, Radioquímica y Química de Radiaciones, December 8-10, 1980, México, D.F.). The chemical fate of 82Br recoil atoms with a mean recoil energy of 100 eV from the nuclear reaction 81Br (n, γ) 82Br has been investigated in mixed potassium hexabromochloro-osmates(IV). The experimental results can be explained by the following reaction paths: 12±3% primary retention, 9±1% free bromide yield, 61 ±3% billiard ball reaction, and 16±5% products resulting from larger disorder. 2 ±2% of the 82Br appear as hydrolysis products with unknown origin. The experiments have shown that the fate of 82Br recoil atoms is equal for impacts with Br and CI atoms.
