ResumoWe obtain a solution for the gluon propagator in the Landau gauge that self-consistently satisfies a truncation of the Schwinger-Dyson equations at essentially all relevant momenta. Our treatment goes beyond that of earlier work in covariant gauges and avoids a “no-go” theorem applicable to axial gauges. We deduce the propagator is as singular as 1q4 for q ⪡ Λ, indicative of confinement.
