Resumo

And now, for something completely different. It's not another book about attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, the future of psychoanalysis, or the psychiatric use of the new anticonvulsants. Instead, this is a fascinating compendium of articles about animal abuse and its relationship to child abuse, youth aggression, and domestic violence. Its premise is that there is plenty of evidence supporting the notion that animals are abused in violent families-by parents who commit violence upon their partners and/or their children and, sometimes, by children who model that aggressive behavior, perhaps even in advance of their own suicides or criminal acts.
