ResumoLeucocytes are a major component of decidualised endometrium in normal human pregnancy but despite numerous in vitro studies the in vivo role of the two major lymphocyte populations in implantation and early placental development remains uncertain. Although there is evidence from animal studies that NK cells play a role in pregnancy loss, further studies are required to clarify mechanisms of pregnancy loss in humans.
