Resumo

A study has been made of the molecular and compositional inhomogeneity of methacrylic acid-styrene copolymers containing up to 5 wt.% of the acid component. It is shown that in the benzene-methanol system fractionation of the copolymers proceeds simultaneously both in respect to molecular weight and in respect to chemical composition. The effect which the degree of conversion has on the molecular weight and the molecular and chemical inhomogeneity of the copolymers is examined. A correlation has been found between degrees of polymerization and the chemical composition of the copolymer macromolecules.
