In-plane and out-of-plane thermal conductivity of La2−æSræCuO4 single crystals

Resumo

We report the first measurements of the in-plane and out-of-plane thermal conductivity (Kab and Kc) for a series of La2−æSræCuO4 single crystals grown by the travelling solvent floating zone method. Corresponding to the superconducting-nonsuperconducting transition between æ=0.20 and 0.30, a quantitative change is observed in both Kab and Kc, indicating an enhanced electronic contribution and / or a change in the phonon-electron scattering. We also observed a sharp increase of thermal conductivity just below Tc in both directions.
