Resumo

Deformation in the neutron-rich Na, Mg, Al, and Si isotopes at, and near, N=20 is discussed from the viewpoint of intruder states and shape coexistence. Predictions of coexisting spherical and deformed states at low energy are made for 13Na, 32Mg, 33Al and 34Si.
