ResumoThis study proposes a framework for a balanced scorecard (BSC) approach to evaluating the performance of convenience stores from key perspectives. Considering both industrial characteristics and expert opinions, this study conducted a survey using a 28 questions instrument. We concluded from the analysis of 235 usable questionnaires: Point-Of-Sale II (POS II) improves business performance; the peculiarities of outlets have a certain relation with the proficiency of POS II; the peculiarities of outlets affect the business performance from the perspective of internal processes; value-added services provided by 7-Eleven differ among regions; better proficiency of POS II accompanies superior business performance. The installation of POS II at 7-Eleven was appraised positively.
