ResumoAbstract A rare case of umbilical pilonidal sinus is reported—the only documented case of barber's pilonidal of the umbilicus. Possible mechanisms of formation are described. It is suggested that this possibility should be considered in cases of resistant or recurrent omphalitis. Definitive treatment consists of sinus excision with cosmetic umbilical reconstruction. Total omphalectomy is probably only justified for recurrence.
