The original slides were reviewed and assigned the current histopathologic classifications (Rappaport) without prior knowledge of the clinical course of the disease. Of the 131 patients who were irradiated to 273 tumor-containing areas, failure of local control was infrequent. Modest total doses controlled tumors with a nodular histologic pattern. Those with a diffuse pattern required somewhat higher doses. Recurrence seems related more to location of the disease than to cytologic distinctions. Classical time-dose concepts have limited applicability to these tumors. A threshold dose is suggested by the data for these and perhaps other very radiosensitive neoplasms.Article HistoryAccepted: Jan 1974Published in print: July 1974 FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited ByAre Higher Doses of Consolidation Radiation Therapy Necessary in Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma Involving Osseous Sites?Jessica W.Lee, Leonard R.Prosnitz, AlexandraStefanovic, Chris R.Kelsey2019 | Advances in Radiation Oncology, Vol. 4, No. 3Neoplastic Diseases of the BloodDavid G.Crockett, James O.Armitage, Julie M.Vose2018Smoldering mantle cell lymphomaHaigeYe, AakashDesai, DongfengZeng, KrystleNomie, JorgeRomaguera, MakhdumAhmed, Michael L.Wang2017 | Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research, Vol. 36, No. 1Recommendations for the Use of Radiotherapy in Nodal LymphomaP.J.Hoskin, P.Díez, M.Williams, H.Lucraft, M.Bayne2013 | Clinical Oncology, Vol. 25, No. 1Neoplastic Diseases of the BloodEdward A.Faber, Julie M.Vose, James O.Armitage, Philip J.Bierman2013Radiotherapy in stage I–III follicular non-Hodgkin lymphomaK.Fakhrian, S.Klemm, U.Keller, C.Bayer, W.Riedl, M.Molls, H.Geinitz2012 | Strahlentherapie und Onkologie, Vol. 188, No. 6Reduced dose radiotherapy for local control in non-Hodgkin lymphoma: A randomised phase III trialLisaLowry, PaulSmith, WendiQian, StephenFalk, KimBenstead, TimIllidge, DavidLinch, MartinRobinson, AndrewJack, PeterHoskin2011 | Radiotherapy and Oncology, Vol. 100, No. 1Localized Low-Dose Radiotherapy for Follicular Lymphoma: History, Clinical Results, Mechanisms of Action, and Future OutlooksGérardGanem, GuillaumeCartron, ThéodoreGirinsky, Rick L.M.Haas, Jean MarcCosset, PhilippeSolal-Celigny2010 | International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, Vol. 78, No. 4Radiotherapy for MALT LymphomaKenneth R.Olivier, Scott L.Stafford2004Feb1 | Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Vol. 79, No. 2Dose-response analysis for radiotherapy delivered to patients with intermediate-grade and large-cell immunoblastic lymphomas that have completely responded to CHOP-based induction chemotherapyRichard BWilder, Susan LTucker, Chul SHa, Maria ARodriguez, Mark AHess, Fernando FCabanillas, James DCox2001 | International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, Vol. 49, No. 1Long-term results with radiotherapy for stage I–II follicular lymphomasRichard BWilder, DanJones, Susan LTucker, Lillian MFuller, Chul SHa, PeterMcLaughlin, Mark AHess, FernandoCabanillas, James DCox2001 | International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, Vol. 51, No. 5Strahlenbehandlung von follikulären KeimzentrumslymphomenH.Sack, A.Hoederath, M.Stuschke, W.Bohndorf, H.
