ResumoWe present recent improvements of a frequency‐stabilized cavity ring‐down spectroscopy setup in which the Pound‐Drever‐Hall technique is used to lock the probe laser to the ring‐down cavity. This approach, which yields a high repetition rate of ring‐down events of approximately 7.7 kHz, and narrowing of the probe laser line width below 20 kHz, enables a five‐fold increase in the signal‐to‐noise ratio. Using line shape measurements to illustrate system performance, we demonstrate improvements in the spectrometer perfomance afforded by the PDH.
