The development of the Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica (EMBRAER) 170 Jet has benefited from an expanded modeling and simulation capability at EMBRAER. The aerodynamics model and its accuracy became an important part of the design development phase. The structure of this Simulink model, how the model was matched to flight test, some of the problems encountered, and the advantages and disadvantages of the matching techniques used are discussed. RT-LAB/DINAMO, the parameter estimation software used, is also presented
