ResumoUN-beatable? Laser-ablated uranium atoms activate NF3 and PF3 to form the NUF3 and PUF3 molecules containing novel terminal nitride and phosphide functional groups. These molecules are identified from matrix infrared spectra and theoretical methods. The NUF3 molecule contains the strongest triple bond to uranium in a ternary compound.
