Based on this concept, repeated pulmonary segmental flooding was introduced and successfully applied as a method of bronchiolo-alveolar debridement in the treatment of six cases of alveolar proteinosis (2-4). Subsequently, segmental infusion of therapeutic agents has been used in the treatment of other pulmonary diseases (5).Experience with these cases showed that segments of human lung could be irrigated four times a day with 50 to 100 ml of saline solution containing heparin, acetylcysteine, or...References1.
