ResumoHREELS, AES and XPS have been jointly used to study the adsorption of O2 on the UNi2 surface. It shows that oxygen interacts mainly with the uranium sites, leading to Ni precipitation through the surface underlayers. The HREELS results suggest the presence of two oxygen-uranium sites having different adsorption kinetics.
