Resumo

Using intracutaneous tests it was shown that a person allergic to hexavalent chromium is regularly allergic also to trivalent chromium. Patch tests with strong solutions of trivalent chromium (0.5 M chromium trichloride) are not invariably positive in chromium-sensitive persons. Basophil leukocytes are increased in the inflammatory exudate produced by trivalent chromium in chromium allergic individuals just as in exudate produced by chromate and other allergens.
