ResumoTime of flight Small Angle Neutron Scattering was used to investigate the coarsening process in an AlLi (3 wt%) alloy annealed at 463 K for different times. The size distribution and the growth rate of the δ'-Al3Li precipitates have been determined and compared with the predictions of coarsening theories. The position and the intensity of the interference peak observed in the scattering pattern have a time dependence which is in good agreement with the predictions of phase separation theories based on Ising model simulations. The time scaling characteristics of the structure function have been verified.
