Abstract We investigated the system Cs 2 O-Nd 2 O 3 -P 2 O 5 -H 2 O within a temperature range of 300–800°C, and found five crystalline phases: NdP 3 O 9 , NdP 5 O 14 , CsNd[P 4 O 12 ], α-CsNd(PO 3 ) 4 and β-CdNd(PO 3 ) 4 . A phase diagram consistent with Gibbs ' phase rule was constructed. We determined the field of crystallization for the CsNd tetraphosphates in the diagram. The CsNd[P 4 O 12 ] crystal were grown as a result of chemical reactions. For CsNd tetraphosphates we performed X-ray, morphological, chemical studies as well as differential thermal analysis. We determined the following values of lifetime (τ): CsNd[P 4 O 12 ] 115 μs, α-CsNd(PO 3 ) 4 110 μs, β-CsNd(PO 3 ) 4 115 μs.
