ResumoExcess molar enthalpies HmE of water + 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (tfe), + 2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropanol (pfp), + 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-propanol (tfip), + 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propanol (hfip), + 1-propanol, and + 2-propanol have been measured at 298.15 K with an LKB flow microcalorimeter. Only (water + hfip) mixes exothermically for the whole composition range, while the other three examples of (water + a fluoroalkanol) mix endothermically except for the highly water-rich region.
