ResumoIn a study of diffusion of news about the Palme assassination, rate and amount of diffusion was investigated in four European countries (England, Germany, Hungary and Italy). First source of learning, as well as subsequent reactions and communication activities were also studied. In all four countries, knowledge about the murder was widespread, and the electronic media dominated the diffusion pattern. Diffusion was very rapid. The results are discussed and interpreted in terms of time zone differences, sociocultural differences, differential media structures, etc.
