Click to increase image sizeClick to decrease image size Notes Crispin Pemberton‐Pigott is the inventor of, among other things, the netwire board and the square mesh jig, labour‐intensive fence‐making devices. He has worked as a technical advisor to informal sector businessmen with Transido, and as the Director of Technical Services in the Transkei Appropriate Technology Unit (Tatu). With his own business, New Dawn Engineering, he has directly created 300 jobs in fence‐making throughout Southern Africa in the past two years, and over the past five years, indirectly introduced hundreds more to the candle‐making business. At present he operates a consultancy and manufacturing operation based in Siteki, Swaziland.
