Resumo

Two different probability distributions in the pure birth process are considered. They depend on initial conditions: (A) δn,k (k is the number of hadrons at t=0). (B) σkδn,k 〈m〉k exp (−〈m〉)/k! (the number of hadrons at t=0) is distributed by the Poisson law with the average multiplicity 〈m〉). Moment formulae are used in analyzing data in the energy range of Serpukhov, FNAL, ISR and SPS pp colliders. Higher moments (C4 and C5) of the first case (A) give larger values than those obtained by the negative binomial (NB) distribution. The second case (B) gives compatible values as well as the NB distribution. Moreover, other stochastic quantities are presented.
