Resumo

Abstract The influence of different ligands upon the nickel(0)-catalysed formation of imines from isocyanates and aldehydes is reported. Carbonyl-free nickel(0) systems are found to be more active and provide a simple synthesis of imines. The catalysis proceeds via a five-membered metallacycle, which has been isolated and characterized.
