ResumoThe activation volumes for the substitution reactions of a series of Pt(IV) sulfide organometallic complexes have been determined as a function of the entering and leaving ligands, as well as the inert organometallic skeleton. The results agree with the existence of a tunable associatively/dissociatively activated mechanism operating on these complexes, depending on the electronegativity of the substitution-inert spectator ligands.
