ResumoThe crystalline dilithium diphosphide [Li(tmeda)]2[C6H4(PR)2-1,2]1[R = SiMe3, obtained from C6H4(PRR″)2-1,2 (R′= R″= H or R, or R′= H and R″= R)] reacts with H2O, SiCl3Me, or [Zr(η-C5H3R2-1,3)2Cl2] to yield rac- and meso- C6H4(PHR)2-1,2, C6H4(PR2)2-1,2, or [[graphic omitted]R)2-1,2}], respectively; whereas 1 with RR-Me2C(OĊHCH2OTs)2(Ts = toluene-p-sulfonate) or SiButCl3 affords C6H4[[graphic omitted]H2-RR]2-1,2 or [[graphic omitted])-1,2}]3(µ3-SiBut), respectively.
