ResumoLow levels of FR (feedback regulator), an inhibitor of adenylate cyclase, stimulates guanylate cyclase about 10-fold. The extent of stimulation depends on FR concentration, but is reversed at higher FR levels. At lower enzyme concentrations less FR is required for maximal activation. ER-stimulated activity is different from basal activity as it is more pH and [Mn2+] dependant. Basal activity has a broad optimum at higher pH. Both basal and stimulated activities show a sigmoidal dependance on [GTP].
