Resumo

A DNA-mediated silver nanostructure is used in the facile detection of dopamine. The method relies on the large fluorescence enhancement resulting from specific binding of intercalating dye with the DNA that is released by dopamine from the nanoparticle. The protocol shows excellent selectivity and visual detection is possible under UV illumination.
