Resumo

Abstract Hatchlings were obtained from eggs laid by Testudo hermanni hermanni GMELIN, which had hatched in captivity in 1965. To our knowledge this is the first report of a second generation breeding of Testudinidae under conditions in captivity. Two hybrid hatchlings between a male T. h. hermanni and female Testudo horsfieldii (GRAY) were also obtained.
