ResumoSolar-grade polysilicon of reasonable purity was prepared by zinc reduction of silicon tetrachloride in a horizontal reactor. The studies show that depending on the temperature of reaction and flow rate of silicon tetrachloride inside the reactor, one can get needle-shape, octahedral faceted crystals or amorphous silicon.
