ResumoAbstract The essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of inflorescence parts of Eryngium paniculatum Cav. (Apiaceae), caraguatá, growing in Argentina was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Seventeen constituents were identified, of which (E)-anethole (52.6%) and α-pinene (19.1%) were the major components.
