ResumoAn outbreak of cholera El Tor due to a contaminated water supply in a restaurant, resulting in 17 cases of which four died, is described. Eighteen of the 46 employees were found to be carriers, and it is suggested that at least a further 240 persons became undetected sub-clinical cases or carriers. The importance of investigating the patient's eating habits, environment surroundings, and close contacts is emphasized.
