ResumoThe aim of this study is to analyze the teaching knowledge practiced in the formation project of the Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC) agronomy course. What gave rise to the study was the opportunity to penetrate a little explored professional environment, namely academic formation. A qualitative research, in the form of a case study, was undertaken with a descriptive approach, using a semi-structured interview as a tool. According to 81% of the interviewees, the results highlighted the fact that the formation has technical leanings and that the project does not impart the necessary professional skills to meet the current emerging challenges and demands of the rural environment.
