Resumo

The specific heats of the pyrochlore compounds Eu2Ir2O7 and Lu2Ir2O7 were measured below 20 K. The data was found to be described by the expression C=γT+αT3 below 6 K for both compounds. The Debye temperatures were calculated from the T3-term coefficients. The values for γ were found to be 13.0 mJ/mole K2 for Eu2Ir2O7 and 12.5 mJ/mole K2 for Lu2Ir2O7. The ΘD values were 304 and 352 K, respectively.
