ResumoThis article explores the theatrical estrategies that documentary genre develops to create an effect of reality.For this aim it will be analyzed the Basilio Martín Patino's production for television Andalucía, a century of fascination, a serie of five documentaries filmed from 1992 to 1996 for the public channel Canal Sur Television.These films will be compared to previous work of Martin Patino and to other critics and directors' points of view regarding documentary genre and simulation of objetivity in visual media.As methodology it will be discus the concept of "materialist history" in Walter Benjamin.
