ResumoPlants defend themselves against pathogen attack by activating a multicomponent defense response. The activation of this response requires recognition of the pathogen and initiation of signal transduction processes that finally result in a spatially and temporally regulated expression of individual defense reactions. Several components involved in signaling resistance reactions have recently been identified and characterized.
