ResumoThe clinkerability of different clinker raw mixes has been investigated, using microwaves at 2.45 GHz, After a short time, a plasma is formed and extends to the width of the cavity. Dielectric losses of the different constituents, at 1450°C, are sufficient to maintain the heating of the material and ensure the clinkerisation. The microwave clinker has been studied by chemical and X-ray analysis, and by optical microscopy. The mechanical resistances of the microwave cement have been measured. These results show that its properties are close to those of an industrial cement.
