ResumoRelative retention times and detector responses of trimethylsilyl and trifluoroacetyl derivatives of the components of maltitol (maltotriitol) syrups on Dexsil GC 300 liquid phase are reported. Glucose, sorbitol, maltose, maltitol, maltotriose and maltotriitol gave a single main peak, whereas as trifluoroacetylated derivatives two or three separated peaks could be observed, which probably showed products of incomplete trifluoroacetylation. A method for rapid separation and quantitative estimations obtained by gas-liquid chromatography for the constituents of maltitol (maltotriitol) syrups are given.
