Resumo

Previous research has demonstrated that patients with memory disorders resulting from closed-head injury can acquire the complex knowledge and skills necessary for the use of a microcomputer. The present paper extends the generality of those findings by showing that (1) amnesic patients with other etiologies could similarly learn how to operate and (2) the knowledge and skills acquired were retained over intervals of up to 9 months.
