Resumo

The electrochemical behaviour of phthalimide and some of its derivatives has been investigated in acidic media using a rotating disc electrode. Problems arising from the use of ethanol as solvent have been avoided by using acetonitrile-water mixtures. Both short-time and coulometric results are described. At low pH the kinetics are straightforward but at pHs greater than 5 more complex behaviour is observed. A reaction scheme is proposed.
