ResumoThe crop rotation is an important factor in no tillage system. This study aimed to evaluate soybean and corn crop rotation in summer season and common bean, velvet bean, brachiaria, millet and fallow on intercropping season to soybean grown on subsequent summer. The soil chemical characteristics of 0-10, 10-20 and 20-40cm layers, of a dystrophic haplustox in no tillage system in 1998/99 and 1999/2000 agricultural years were also evaluated. The entirely randomized design in a factorial scheme with summer crops x intercropping season and fallow set up the treatments. The dry matter weight of intercropping season was from 9.6 to 13.5 t.ha-1; the soybean grain yield was from 3.4 to 3.8 t.ha-1 and it was not influenced by treatments: there were higher return of N and S to soil by soybean straw on ‘soybean-brachiaria-soybean’ rotation; the organic matter, pH, P, K, Ca, Mg, SB, CTC and V% values were higher on 0-10cm layer.
