Theoretical Isochrones for Early-Type Clusters Simpson, Erik ; Hills, R. E. ; Hoffman, Wilson ; Kellman, Sanford A. ; Morton, Erwin, Jr. ; Paresce, Francesco ; Peterson, Charles Abstract Theoretical isocbrones are constructed for stars of intermediate mass with a solar-type chemical composition of X = 0.730, Y = 0.245, and Z = 0.025. The effects of small changes in helium abundance are investigated by means of other isochrones computed with X = 0.700, Y = 0.275, and Z = 0.025. The effect on the isochrones is negligible. The isochrones are then fitted to some diagrams of galactic clusters in an effort to determine their ages and distances. Some difficulties encountered and possible explanations are discussed.
