ResumoCholecystectomy has been the mainstay of treatment for acute cholecystitis (AC). In surgically high-risk patients, decompression of the gallbladder can be performed by percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage or aspiration.1-4 Endoscopic transpapillary gallbladder drainage (ETGD) has been proposed as a safe and effective method to drain the gallbladder in patients in whom the percutaneous approach is contraindicated because of severe coagulopathy, thrombocytopenia, or anatomically inaccessible location.
