D. from Brandeis University and Gary Rosenkrantz received his Ph. D. from Brown University. They are colleagues at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and have published several papers together, including articles in Philosophical Studies and the International Journal for Philosophy of Religion. Hoffman has an article on Locke forthcoming in Ratio and is currently working on identity through time.
