ResumoThe application of pyrolysis gas chromatography (P.G.C.) for comparative studies of soil organic matter is discussed. The P.G.C. method used in this investigation is considered along with the possible use of the technique for further elucidation of soil organic matter composition and structure. Humic acids having a highly condensed structure are readily distinguishable from those that are less condensed.
